ONE of my neighbours some years ago carried out Mrs Joan Nipper's suggestion (opinion, August 3) and turned a hosepipe on youths causing trouble by our houses.Far from being praised for his public-spirited action, he was told by police that he could be charged with assault. It sometimes seems that the authorities are slow to tackle troublesome youths, yet quick to deal with anyone taking matters into their own hands.MRS J EDWARDS - Constable Drive, Weston
