NORTH Somerset Council is proposing to close the entrance to Aisecombe Way from Hutton Moor roundabout. This is the roundabout after coming over Flowerdown Bridge which continues into Herluin Way and into town. They say it is dangerous. They then suggest that one can enter the trading estate, Aisecombe Way and the transfer station via Hutton Moor Lane, by the Mitsubishi showroom. How dangerous is that? Can you imagine queuing out of the Transfer Station back onto a dual carriageway, which has a 50 mph speed limit. The problem is they have got it completely wrong. It is almost impossible to get out of Aisecombe Way because the traffic comes at great speed from around Hutton Moor roundabout, and from over Flowerdown Bridge. The vegetation is so dense and high on the roundabout, and also on the side of Flowerdown Bridge, the answer is traffic lights, and a box junction. There was a meeting of traders, councillors, and important personnel from B&Q. B&Q has just been granted permission to build a new DIY warehouse, with other companies off this junction. Residents of Hutton Park and Hutton Moor Lane are very much against this proposal.JOHN TERRY - Via email
