I FIND myself having to join in this debate concerning banning dogs from some parts of Weston beach.I understand that you are allowed to walk them between the Grand Pier and Royal Sands.I assume they will be putting up signs so as visitors to our beach will know the restrictions. As a dog owner who likes to let her dogs have a run off their leads, who thinks dogs to be intelligent but as yet unable to read and as much as I tell them not to go beyond the pier, are they going to stop and say wow we mustn't go any further? So my question is are they going to fence off that part of the beach? I would also like to comment on Sand Bay. We walk our dogs down there and clean up after them but there are many people who do not. I agree they need more bins along the beach. If this was the case then maybe people would clean up the mess. As responsible dog owners we are once again being penalised for a minority of people who don't clean up after their dogs. As for being able to walk them on Uphill beach it can be dangerous there as two of mine nearly got knocked down by a driver who wasn't concentrating and some drivers don't observe the speed limit. I wouldn't be happy using Uphill unless they could have certain times of day that cars are not allowed on the beach.T INGLIS - Winscombe Road, Weston
