WELL, the long excited queues at the polling stations have now gone home. Thirty per cent bothered to vote - not much of an endorsement of our democratic system, fought for over centuries. We don't deserve a decent town or country. Only 252 in the Central Ward voted. Thank you if you did.Walking around, I couldn't help but notice the poor state of Weston with its pot-holes and dirty streets. What a run-down town we've become. What have our councillors been doing over the past four years? And now we are going to have more of the same. And remember, you voted them in again by voting, or more seriously, by not voting.JOHN CARTER - Leader, New Approach Party of Independents,Addicott Road, Weston
