However, surely dog owners are being very irresponsible if they leave bags scattered around the countryside? These unsightly plastic bags (which don't seem to be biodegradable) can be seen in most walking areas these days - in bushes, trees and even thrown in gardens. If there is no bin available the dog walker should take the bag home. Why go to the trouble of buying the bags and clearing the mess if they just leave this litter lying about? The faeces would rot naturally if hidden in the undergrowth whereas these bags and their contents can be seen months later.Lyn Fowler - Portishead
