IS WESTON finally on the up? There are very slight signs that, due to our MP Mr Penrose and the good work by the newly appointed alcohol police officer, things are on the up. I believe the fines for parents supplying alcohol to under-age children must be brought into effect immediately but the suggested fine is not enough.The police must make a real effort over these summer months to stop yobbish and antisocial behaviour, especially in places like Ashcombe Park where it is well-known that large gangs of yobs meet. Are the police scared to sort these groups of kids out?I believe Mr Penrose needs to make this his next task if he wishes to make Weston the town that it once was. Finally, let's inject some much needed money into the regeneration of the seafront area.SCOTT WINSTONE - The Copse, St Georges
