I think the letter from Ken Edis in the North Somerset Times fails to recognise my past involvement with the village of Backwell. I lived in Backwell for 14 years, served on the Parish Council for 15 years, five as chairman. During my time on the council I closed two noisy quarries, established a children's playground at Downside, provided a £20,000 skate board ramp, set up the detached worker street project, gave evidence on behalf of the village in the Farleigh Fields enquiry and added £10,000 on to every house valuation when we won village of the year in my first year as chair. I shop in the village, use the hairdresser, bank, doctor, and garage. I may sleep in Nailsea but my heart is in Backwell. Perhaps Mr Edis will stand for one of the four seats available.Tom Wilson - Nailsea
