WHY is it I am always reading in the local press that as soon as there is a requirement for our very highly paid North Somerset Council officials to be called on to make a decision they are always insisting on calling one or more of these consultants to do the work they were employed to do.Here we are, Worle High Street, what is to be done, make it a pedestrian walkway, put in more pedestrian crossings, or make it one way? This is because there has been too many accidents over the past five years when in fact we have had six a year.As it happens I went to school in Worle so I do know the area. Perhaps if there is such a big problem it might be a case of putting up some guard rails at problem places. But we already are considering various options so why do we need to employ a consultant to decide which is best for Worle? We have enough people already employed to sort this out already. Are we now going to make a mess of Worle as we have in Weston, will the plans for Worle include reducing the parking spaces for cars, make it impossible for the shops to have deliveries or make it harder for people to get access to the shops?Let us wait and see, I mean see what sort of a mess they make.LAURENCE F ORMEShrubbery Avenue, Weston
