ON FRIDAY I had the pleasure of taking my grandson to a fantastic pantomime, the only disappointment was that the capacity audience was restricted in size by the venue, The Blakehay, and support by maybe insufficient general publicity.

ON FRIDAY I had the pleasure of taking my grandson to a fantastic pantomime, the only disappointment was that the capacity audience was restricted in size by the venue, The Blakehay, and support by maybe insufficient general publicity.

I'm only griping because I wish more people could have enjoyed two hours of fun.

The pantomime was Dick Whittington performed by the students of Weston College. The performance was very professional, the acting impressive, the music and singing was superb, the storyline, different.

To look around the audience grandparents were gloating, parents were bristling with pride, fellow students enthusiastic, the youngsters wrapped in awe and all this from watching a group of much maligned young adults from our town doing something they are interested in and enjoying.

It seems such a shame that our loss-making Playhouse couldn't have extended better public facilities to reach a larger audience, then you might hear a little more positive remarks about these young adults trying to show that there is hope for our next generation.

Well done.
