I WISH to add my voice to those people who have written in about the possible closure of the North Somerset Museum. My grandchildren have spent many happy hours there. It is a little haven of enchantment in Weston town. Apart from the basic exhibits there are frequently changed displays of interest. There are fun quizzes for younger children, a very reasonable list of refreshments and a well stocked shop with affordable items for all ages.I cannot believe any councillor would suggest closing this part of our heritage. I appreciate that costs have to be cut in these difficult times but would ask the council to look at other options. I always thought councillors entered public office to make life better for the community they served. I wonder if the councillors could rethink, and give back, the increase in pay and expenses they awarded themselves as soon as they took over office. Yes, they would be making a sacrifice, but would have the satisfaction of feeling they had acted altruistically for the benefit of the whole community. PAULINE PLATTEN - St Davids Close, Worle
