Affects all council taxpayers

AFTER reading your article 'Where was your councillor?' I was staggered at the comments and excuses of councillors who failed for various reasons not to vote on the Tropicana issue. Some said it's Weston's problem, therefore it should be left to Weston councillors. Not so. The Tropicana is the property of North Somerset Council and not Weston Town Council. Therefore it affects all North Somerset council taxpayers who have a right to be represented by their respective councillors. There is no place in national or local politics for such blinkered attitudes. These councillors have shirked their moral obligation as representatives of the people who elected them. They are not fit for purpose and should be treated as such.J STANTON - Arundell Road, Weston
