RECENTLY I returned to collect my car from Tesco's car park, placed my briefcase on the ground beside the car and unlocked the driver's door. I had settled myself into the car, closed the door and started to reverse the car out of its space when I became aware of a high pitched alarm noise. Two young girls walking along the pavement outside the car park had noticed my briefcase, still standing on the ground, put two and two together and alerted me in the nick of time.The briefcase contained my credit cards, birth certificate, passport, building society pass book and cheque book.They scampered away into the crowd before I had the chance to thank themREX DEWINTON - c/o The Commodore Hotel, Weston
