READING about the proposed rebuilding of the Grand Pier, I sincerely hope the powers-that-be, in the shape of English Heritage or any other Government body, or indeed our local council, are not allowed to have any undue influence on what Michelle and Kerry Michael want to do with their building.I hope they will be allowed to have a completely free hand in whatever visions they have. They could even consider adding to the floor size of the old pier by adding more pillars to the end or to the sides, which will really enable them to go to town. At the end of the day I am sure we will be seeing a phoenix rising out of the ashes, with a brand new, taller, wider and better pier. All of Weston will, I am sure, be looking forward to seeing what the Michaels have in store and I am also sure that, providing there is no interference from outside, in a very short time we will be having a grand opening day.
