I HAVE just read the latest whinge from Cllr Mike Marriott in last week's Mercury about rubbish collection and I just wanted to put an alternative view.Since I moved to George Street in the summer of last year the refuse collections have been excellent.Shortly after first moving in, I was unsure of the bin day and failed to put the rubbish out. It didn't matter as the bin men, realising we were newly moved in (sold sign outside), came and emptied the bins.Over Christmas we were away visiting family, so the rubbish bags were not put out on the due day. Again, the bin men went down the side of the house and emptied the bins anyway.I am the first to complain when things go wrong. However, credit where it is due. Tens of thousands of people are getting a first class rubbish collection service every day and often the rubbish collection staff go way beyond what they are required to do.So instead of always moaning, Cllr Marriott, how about a thank you for those who do a not particularly pleasant job very well?CLLR MIKE BELLGeorge Street, Weston
