I AM emailing about the Tropicana in Weston. I believe what is needed is a large swimming pool with slides. This is essential for a resort where the tide goes out a long way. We need something to discourage people from putting their lives at risk by walking out into the soft sand to try and catch the tide. An open air pool would be nice, especially as the experts predict hotter summers in future, otherwise a covered pool. What we do not need is a cinema and bowling alley. We already have these in Weston and do not need the current ones to close, leaving empty buildings in the town centre. Also if the plans proposed by Henry Boot go ahead, the new building will create an awful blot on the landscape, which is Weston's lovely bay.S HARRISON - Via email
