This is regarding the story about Portishead Football Club. I have two children who play for football teams in Portishead. The managers are all great and they put so much time and energy into the teams and get nothing for it. The part that really angered me was about the elderly who pay council tax. Cllr Rigby seems to forget that the parents of these children also pay council tax.It is bad enough that the children have lost a pitch due to people putting the lease up. Yes, I am talking about the flower show field. How often does that get used? All we hear in the news is the need for children to be doing sports. How can they when people are taking away the facilities? The trouble is we should be thinking of the youth as they are our future.Another thing the elderly have is an indoor bowls hall in Portishead and this stands empty for five or six months of the year. Is that not a waste of the parents' council tax?SAM DODDVia e-mail
