I HAVE just gone outside and someone with a dog has left a pile of poo outside my gate without bothering to pick it up.

I have two very large dogs and never in a million years would I allow that to happen.

I'm appealing to all dog owners, if you find you do not have a bag with you have the courtesy to knock on the door and ask for one. I'm sure thousands of homeowners wouldn't mind giving you one as it's better than leaving it for someone to slip on or pick up.

I have a disability and cannot bend, but had to try today to clear up some ignorant dog owner's mess.

Now they say there is a fine for not picking it up but do you see any law enforcement in place? Because I certainly don't and never have had so it's a waste of time plastering stickers on lampposts when the law is not upheld.

For goodness sake if you know you are taking your dog for a walk make sure you carry a few bags because if I see anyone myself I will gladly hand you a bag and watch you pick it up.

Stop being lazy and think of others e.g. children, the aged and disabled.
