Firework Fantasia, Dial Hill Clevedon November 4, 2006. As this year's Chairman of Clevedon & District Round Table, I would like to express my appreciation to my Round Table colleagues for all their hard work and commitment over these last couple of months that have helped make this year's Firework Fantasia a real success. Clevedon Round Table is a small group of local men who meet a couple of times each month and in doing so undertake to assist with local community events and once a year to organise the Dial Hill Firework Display to raise funds for local charities and other good causes. This year we expect to have raised well in excess of £5,000 to distribute to local beneficiaries and without the fantastic support of the Clevedon and district public who attend and pay to enter the event, this would not be possible.I also extend thanks to the local businesses who commit to sell advance tickets without charge: Tesco Stores plc; Clevedon Triangle Post Office; Seeleys; Clevedon DIY and Fife's Pharmacy. Thanks also to Nat West in Clevedon who organises our change and night safe facility; That Copyshop who printed all our tickets and Staddons Timber Merchants who provided their lorry for the stage, all without charge. Round Table has used Firemagic, the locally based Firework Company for many years now, and their displays are excellent. In spite of their recent problems (much publicised), they still were able to put on another great show. Thanks to Clevedon Cricket Club who open their clubhouse to us for the event to provide a bar facility and I am sure that their takings for the evening made that worthwhile. A final thank you to the local residents at Dial Hill, particularly to those who provide us with access to their power supply to enable us to light up the access points onto the field. We always aim to keep the disruption on the field to a minimum and a lot of effort goes into the day itself but not forgetting the next day in particular, to clear the field in the shortest time possible, to pick up every piece of litter and sparkler stick and to make sure the site is fit again for public access. A great fireworks night, a great community event and one that simply could not happen without the co-operation and support of the people of Clevedon and District.
