I WRITE with reference to the story which appeared in the Weston Mercury on April 28 headlined 'Corrie's close shave with head'.I can't believe in this day and age that a headmaster would discipline a boy for his haircut. As long as he goes to school and does his lessons, I would have thought that is what matters. I think the girls in their short skirts are more distracting than a few lines cut into an individual's hair, as long as they are not indecent. As for the teacher saying there isn't another boy within a 30-mile radius with this sort of haircut, has he not been to Bristol - which is about 25 miles from Weston - lately? Methinks he would have a problem if he tried the same tactics there.MRS G H PROBERT - Hazelwood Bungalows, Weston
