Far be it from any of us to dispute his interest in or knowledge of such things but according to the statement in last week's Mercury our cultural chief thinks the museum was built in the mid-19th century.
Local historians have been working on 1912 as the actual date but we are grateful to be corrected by such a worthy luminary and look forward to reassessing other aspects of history under his scholarly guidance.
As Cllr Bryant put it "it is essential that we keep hold of North Somerset's culture". Quite so, even if it is all to be stuffed in the back of a van.
