I WOULD like to express my ideas on Barcode. The building is enjoyed by the young people as the nearest thing to an adult bar, which helps in their progress towards becoming responsible adults. They are able to realise that is is possible to have a fun evening without alcohol and at not too much cost.Teenagers from around the country and even from around the world have expressed their envy of Barcode youth cafe and wish to copy it.On a recent fact-finding mission another town council in the area came out in favour of doing something similar. As to the site position, its visibility makes it ideal for the safety, and perception of safety, both for the young people and their parents. It is close to several bus routes so making it even more accessible. I believe the police have expressed their satisfaction with the site.Regarding the cost, the town council spends money on dog bins, bus shelters and play areas for a younger age group, also grants for all ages and uses. Surely it is not unreasonable to spend money on the teenagers who are our up and coming generation, to give them a pride in what they are creating and a voice in its further development.Even pensioners, which I also am, having grandchildren, can benefit from its retention.Come on Weston residents let us be really proud in what we have, and trumpet its success.CLLR JENNY GOSDEN - Lib Dem for Milton and old Worle
