I READ with interest our article on the youth cafe in South Parade and agree that it is a much-needed facility for young people in the town.I would point out, however, that this is not the first time such a facility has been provided in Weston. Back in the late fifties there was a cafe in The Centre where soft drinks and coffee were available, together with snacks and a jukebox. This was very popular with young teens at the time although some adults thought such a gathering place was 'asking for trouble' and some went so far as calling door-to-door trying to persuade parents not to let their adolescents frequent such a potentially dangerous place! Keep up the good work, Bar Code, but keep watch for 'smugglers'.CYNTHIA JONES - Torrington Crescent, Worle
