AS A resident of Sandford I am greatly saddened by the hardening attitudes and open hostility by a vociferous tiny minority to the proposed unified premises at Pudding Pie Lane.

The surgeries of Wrington and Churchill have always worked in tandem and this partnership has served our communities well.

The doctors have always shared duties and the responsibilities at both venues and we the patients, have benefited from the expertise of all the doctors, nurses and phlebotomists at both surgeries whenever necessary, widening our access to a variety of services and the appointment allocation.

One new building at the heart of the practice makes sense, it will make better use of resources, maximise effectiveness and enhance even further the range of services on offer.

The partnership register is 9,100, very few of us has ever lived within walking distant of either surgery, certainly not those in Sandford, Langford, Shipham and various other rural areas.

Transport for us has always been required but has never prevented us, the vast majority, from enjoying a first class service from our medical practitioners.

Mis-information and reckless assumptions are feeding the anxieties of the vulnerable and the elderly.

Change is always unsettling but is never undertaken on a whim or without due consideration of all the other options including funding.

Reasoned debate, informed opinion and a good working relationship will resolve difficult issues, not dogmatic opposition and personal attacks on the people who provide our medical cover.
