WE HAVE just received our council tax bill for 2008/09 and, while great news has been made about the 1.9 per cent increase in the North Somerset bill, it shows on the analysis, an increase to the town council of 48.6 percent.Looking back to last year, 2007/08, the increase was 3.1 percent. This represents in Band C, an increase from £26.52 to £39.41 = £12.89 (the 2006/07 cost was £25.72).Maybe others have spotted this. As this is such a large percentage increase, I wonder if it is possible to get a breakdown of what this increase represents to the residents who pay this charge - a comparison between 2007/08 and 2008/09?MRS C CREW - Via email
