It never ceases to amaze me how far this bureaucratic claptrap a.k.a. health and safety will go. Isn't it fairly obvious that anyone who has bought from the civic amenity centre in the past is extremely happy with what they have bought and have the intelligence to realise that there is no guarantee of the quality of the goods they have bought? This is North Somerset Council thinking they know better than the local Portishead residents. Maybe they don't have the same problems as a lot of people not as well off as themselves, but it doesn't give them the right to assume that they don't know their own mind and can't make the decision to buy something that if it doesn't work then it won't break the bank. But then most of North Somerset Council probably haven't got a clue how lower income people have to make ends meet, they might think they do but they wouldn't last five minutes in the lower income bracket.V Moorlen - Via e-mail
