I HOPE councillor Ian Parker is not serious about calling the Bournville Estate a village. For a start, a village usually has a local and a church, of which we have neither, and please don't tell me what is in the Living Centre passes as a church. This has always been an estate and should stay that way.I would have thought Cllr Parker had bigger issues to deal with, like cleaning the place up. I for one would not be happy with it being called a village, and I am sure there are many that feel the same way. I hope he read the letter from Gareth Jones in last week's Mercury. Not a truer word was said. He and more like him are needed on our council. Well done Gareth!NAME AND ADDRESS SUPPLIED
