IN YOUR article concerning the move of just 350 staff to the old Clerical Medical building on Tickenham Road, Clevedon, it would appear to suggest that the full North Somerset Council operation could move to this site in the future; this I suggest would be an excellent idea.

Firstly this would move the council more into the geographical centre of North Somerset with much improved road communication, (M5 only a few hundred meters away.)

It would move some of the congestion out of Weston and there would appear to have much better parking facilities on the Clevedon site.

With all North Somerset Council operations on one site this must reduce the overall running costs.

Also one quick improvement to road access to the airport would be to open the road to the public from Brockley Combe into the airport. This would be of great help to the people of North Somerset, who have great difficulty and considerable risk when accessing the A38 at Lulsgate Bottom. This could be done at little or no cost.

At this time there is no public transport from any of the towns in North Somerset; apart, I believe, from a limited service from Weston. If the airport wishes to expand this is a matter that should be given urgent consideration. At this time we have a better bus service to Heathrow and Gatwick airports.
