I HAVE just received a copy of the Henry Boot leaflet Tropicana News and found the contents both confusing and disappointing. Does Henry Boot think the people of Weston are all stupid? The leaflet shows that only the views of 385 people were taken. It seems absolutely crazy that Henry Boot only asked 385 people and based their findings on this. There must be more than this number in my street alone. There are more than 55,000 households in Weston. The leaflet ignores the local petition of over 15,000 people who signed for a new leisure pool and facilities but not a hotel. What relevance has a loaded questionnaire of 385 people? Even their own heavily weighted results from their selectively worded questionnaire show the majority of the 385 do not like the mix of facilities proposed for this site.We do not want a gigantic painted carbuncle on Weston beach. There are many, many alternative sites for a monstrosity of this kind. We want the pool restored not defaced. Please repair the pool and run it as a pool. Why should we always be dictated to by developers wanting to make a fast buck?M D FOSTER- Ashcombe Road, Weston
