I SEE Cllr John Crockford-Hawley, North Somerset Council Executive member for strategic planning and transport, has come up with a congestion-busting scheme for Junction 21.Perhaps no one has mentioned to him that traffic congestion in our area is set to rise by 14 per cent in the next five years instead of falling by eight per cent as it was supposed to. That is the problem we need to solve.New house building in Weston advances apace but new residents find it somewhat difficult to get jobs without increasing traffic congestion by travelling to Bristol. There is plenty of land for industry and commerce around Weston but Cllr Crockford-Hawley's strategic planning does not really seem to offer its development as a solution to our transport problems. If more jobs were provided in the Weston area everyone would gain and North Somerset Council Executive would be seen to be doing the job we are paying it to do.CLLR MIKE KELLAWAY-MARRIOTTGrove Park, Weston
