NOW the new smoking laws are in full force we are subject to the unsightly spectacle of groups of smokers gathering outside public houses, offices and shops etc. They discard their litter onto the Queen's highway and deprive anybody in the vicinity of fresh air, which results in confrontation regarding the pavement space, etc.The powers that be should provide sufficient enforcement resources to deal with the additional problems this law has created, thereby protecting the majority from other people's bad habits. Before the law was brought in there was much talk about public places. You can't get more public than streets and pavements.A S DAVIS - Victoria Quadrant, Weston
