CONGRATULATIONS to anyone who read the whole of the Q&A feature with the leader of North Somerset Council (Mercury, August 14).It was the literal equivalent of watching paint dry, a good example of a politician using a lot of words to say very little.However I was intrigued that Cllr Ashton does not consider litter to be a problem in Weston. I enclose some photographs I took on Tuesday at midday. The area is South Road and the car park opposite the Dorville Hotel, where the council - thoughtfully - does not provide litter bins. I did not have to go far, both are within 200m of my home. The picture of the rubbish represents a 21st century solution to rubbish collection by a modern and innovative local authority!
