YES, the land train would be a good idea, but travelling along pedestrianised areas, not so clever. The elderly and children would be in danger from this and remember the High Street by the Sovereign Centre is for pedestrians only. As for Councillor John Ley-Morgan's think-tank, this is only made up of "yes" people who agree with his ideas. I have tried to get the Tropicana development started for over five years, but to no avail. Cllr Ley-Morgan first wanted me on his think-tank but when he realised I was in favour of the Henry Boot scheme, didn't want to know. I have his e-mail to support this. Also, the pirate ship in Marine Lake would be a brilliant idea for tourism in Weston, but as letters state in this week's Mercury NOT ON MY BEACH! I came to live in the resort 29 years ago and have watched its decline over this period. It is now not even in the top 10 British holiday resorts. People of Weston you have a fantastic resort, but wake up and support it before it dies and becomes a distant childhood memory. Finally, Dolphin Square is one of the town's jewels. Older holidaymakers love to browse this area for bargains and to get rid of it would be madness.LES BEAVAN - Via email
