MY RECYCLING is put out every Tuesday, ready for collection on Wednesday morning. For the past two collections it seems I have not put out the right stuff so I have had a piece of paper through the letterbox, which is fair enough. But why oh why, if there is just one offending item, can't the binmen take it out - in the most recent case a catalogue laid on the top - and empty the rest of the green box?I can fully understand that the binmen are probably on a tight schedule, but how hard it is to lift out the offending item and empty the remainder of the box? From now on I shall take my recycling to the tip, crossing the dual carriageway, and have enormous pleasure in throwing the bottles into the bottle bank myself. I just feel very sorry for those who have experienced the same treatment but who can't get to the tip. After all, it's not as though the regular refuse collectors will take it. What else are we to do?A MOORE - Via email
