I CANNOT believe that there are many Westonians who would agree with CJ Peverelle and his proposal to give even more power to North Somerset Council, which has been such a disaster for Weston.
I CANNOT believe that there are many Westonians who would agree with CJ Peverelle and his proposal to give even more power to North Somerset Council, which has been such a disaster for Weston.
Contrary to Mr Peverelle's assertion, Weston had a town council long before North Somerset Council's predecessor, Avon, was a gleam in Ted Heath's eye.
It is North Somerset Council which should be abolished, with its dominance by Portishead and the wealthy fringes of Bristol.
The historical Winterstoke Hundred, which equated roughly to the Parliamentary Constituency, would be a natural council district.
