WE WRITE to thank all those who contributed in any way to the outstanding success of the CD we made last year in aid of Cancer Research UK entitled 'What Sweeter Music'.Sales to date have exceeded our expectations, and the charity has already received an initial sum of £7,000. Sales from other parts of the country are still coming in, and we will report to the Mercury at the end of May with a final figure, which hopefully will be in excess of £10,000.So many people helped get the project off the ground, not least the Weston Mercury, the churchwardens of All Saints' Church. Waterstone's Bookshop, Avon Tandoori, Astills the Bakers, James Davies our invaluable session manager and our mayor Councillor Paula Howell, to all of whom we are eternally grateful. To all the singers, musicians and recording crews who took part, providers of food and accommodation and to everyone who bought the disc, may we reiterate our thanks and gratitude for their invaluable support.Listeners to Classic FM may remember that on Christmas Day 'What Sweeter Music' was voted number three in their top 20 Christmas Carols. There are still a few copies of the disc available, and the good news is that Cancer Research UK have decided to re-issue the disc in time for next Christmas and sell it in their 600 or so shops nationwide.CHRIS AND JONATHAN MANNERS - Brean Down Avenue, Weston
