I FEEL I must put pen to paper and speak about my experience with the NHS.
I fell at home on Saturday evening whilst getting ready for bed. Pressing my Medic Alert button, within 10 minutes a member of the rapid response team arrived along with an ambulance.
On arriving at Weston General Hospital, it was discovered I had advanced pneumonia. I was taken to an emergency ward and stayed there for two days before being transferred to another ward when a bed became available.
The treatment, care and attention I received in these wards were excellent.
I am now being visited at home by a member of the rapid response team to monitor my recovery, twice a day, plus arrangements have been made with Care UK for general help.
I'm pleased to say I am almost fully recovered thanks to all the medics involved with the NHS.
