I WONDER if I was the only person who was not impressed with any of the 'vote for me' leaflets sent for the recent elections. Here was an excellent opportunity for candidates to provide some 'meat on the bones' and to explain their different roles if standing in both the local and unitary elections. It was a relief though to see nearly every candidate claiming to be able to rid the town of potholes! It's about time the political parties helped electors understand more about the work of both councils, their operation and the roles and responsibilities of councillors. I'm sure some people won't have bothered to vote because they could see no discernable difference between candidates. Please stop treating us like idiots and give us more information so we may make better judgements. And on a final point. Can all elected councillors please work together as a team, stop the bickering and endless party political sniping and focus on doing what's best for Weston and North Somerset?Peter Whitmarsh - Pendlesham Gardens, Weston
