SINCE 2000 we are informed the Weston Regeneration Partnership has donated £13 million in grants to the town! This taxpayers' money was spent outside the control of local councillors mainly on dolling up roads and pavements, replacing traffic lights, etc, all of which normally falls under the town's maintenance budget. There is no doubt in many minds of the people of Weston that the refurbishing of the pool with modern facilities and a roof would have been a far more rewarding project than playing around with the streets, which has had little impact on the town's wellbeing!Once again local democracy has lost out to big Government and such costly quangos as the South West Regional Development Fund.C J PEVERELLEEdinburgh Place, Weston
