I am writing in support of Councillor Pasley who replied to an earlier letter from Councillor John S Clark. It would seem that it is only David Pasley who is prepared to stand up and fight for the interests of the residents of Portishead.Where are all the other Portishead councillors who are meant to represent us? Don't they realise the strength of feeling regarding the totally preventable fiasco that is the Cabstand 'improvement' scheme. It is an absolute outrage that £800,000 has been spent on a road system that is worse in all respects to that which it replaced and created problems where there weren't any before.Perhaps it's me, but I was under the impression that 'improvement' means making things better. In any other walk of life the organisation responsible for this calamity would be hanging its head in shame. It is simply not good enough, that no matter what the evidence, no matter how many people protest, that North Somerset Council carry on as if this new road layout is a success.Too many reputations are at stake if they were to admit that this system they have inflicted on us is useless. If Councillor Clark can't accept that the vast majority of the town despise this road system, then he really should consider whether he is in tune with his constituents and should he be representing them at all.Alan Woods - Slade Road, Portishead
