FOLLOWING the chief constable's campaign to raise the confidence of 11 to 16- year-olds and deal with bullying due to race, religion, disability or sexual orientation, I am delighted that the first international anti-bullying festival for young people is to be held in Weston. Additional aspects to be covered will include bullying and the bystander, cyberbullying, bullying and refugees, support group approaches, bully courts, children's rights, peer mentoring, protective behaviour, massage in schools, empowerment, role models, and child advocacy. The presentation of the Damilola Taylor Young Achiever of the Year Award will remind us all of the dire consequences if bullying is not nipped in the bud.CLLR MIKE KELLAWAY-MARRIOTTCentral WardWeston
