WHILST I agree with most of the comments in the letters section in last week's Mercury, concerning the ludicrous idea of calling the Bournville a village, (according to the dictionary a village is 'a small group of houses in a country area, larger than a hamlet'). I have to disagree with the comments of J Bartlett concerning the Healthy Living Centre. The HLC has five organisations based in the building: the South Weston Community Association (SWCA), a registered charity; St Andrew's Church; Sure Start children's centre; the PCT and North Somerset Council, all of which pay a service charge to the Healthy Living Company, which not only has representatives as directors but also resident directors.I believe there are two vacancies. Perhaps J Bartlett would like to apply to become a resident director, so that he/she can see at first hand that there is a sense of community and how the centre is run. If interested contact Jenny Hendy on 427688. As to the pub, the Windwhistle closed a few years ago due to lack of use and a fire.COUNCILLOR BOB BATEMAN - Representing South Ward
