I SEE our new Tory council's got off to an interesting start. With 43 Conservative, seven Independent, five Lib Dem and three Labour councillors they've still found it necessary to create a number of 'private' working parties composed entirely of their own tribe to look into such important issues as seafront flood defences. Will these working parties have agenda and minutes available for public inspection? Will council officers service them - surely illegal? Will councillors with undisputed prejudicial interests serve on them? To whom will these working parties be answerable? Despite our faults Lib Dems never operated in this mafia manner. JOHN CROCKFORD-HAWLEY - Via email
