I SEEK information on a locally-raised wartime regiment: 74th battery, 23rd Light Anti-aircraft Regiment, Royal Artillery. It was formed as a T.A. regiment at Winscombe drill hall just before the war. They recruited members from the surrounding area including Weston. The regiment ended up spending three years in Ceylon and India until the war ended.
My late grandfather served with the 74th Battery. Sadly, he did not leave any photographs or information on his wartime days. Are there any former members of the regiment or relatives out there who have any information or photographs of the unit?
