I AM pleased organisers of Helidays and T4 choose to hold their events in Weston and bring much needed revenue to the area, but think it only fair local residents have either free or discounted access to these events. I live near the seafront and when these sorts of events are held have to put up with extra traffic, both motorised and human, noise from things such as Tannoys, aircraft and motorbikes through weekends when I'd really prefer to relax in my garden in relative peace and quiet. I cannot use areas of the sea front and in the case of helidays, have to walk right out of my way to cross to the beach. If you are not a fan of what's going on they can be annoying more than anything and if you'd like to investigate, expensive to boot! I read a while back it was being suggested the Beach Lawns should be used more as they lie vacant for long periods and I suggest they hold boot sales or charity sales there in the summer. I believe these would be popular and just as coaches of people come to Weston to take advantage of the many charity shops, I believe it would attract more people at the weekends who would stay to enjoy the attractions in the area.J GLASGOW - Severn Road, Weston
