THE short but unpleasant letter from Mr Rogers last week attacking Weston library staff was ill-informed and silly. The noise and chatter in the reference library is created by people from an outside agency brought in to run courses for computer beginners. I would lay odds that those people are as much of a nuisance to the genuine staff as they are to others, as sticking them in the reference section was stupid to start with. The actual staff have been friendly and helpful to me over several decades. I think they do remarkably well considering how many bad tempered old men enjoy shouting at the ladies. One should also bear in mind that a library does not have to resemble a crematorium to be of use.BRIAN AUSTIN - Alma Street, Weston
