IN THE Weston Mercury dated April 7 my attention was drawn to the headline 'Win a car for £1' with Mark Gritten stating he understood the donation of a car by Peter Coleman of Howard's Group was unique because it was given without strings to Weston Super Kids Appeal. This was a very generous donation but it was not unique. When I was Mayor Peter Coleman and the Howard's Group gave me a gold Nissan Micra 1.2S for my chosen charity Children's Hospice South West with no strings and I sold the raffle tickets as 'Win a car for £1'.We raised £10,150 of the total £67,000 that was raised for CHSW in Weston this way.CLLR ASTRA BRAND
