I HAD a look at the Henry Boot proposals for the old Tropicana, and I must admit I thought they were not bad. Much as I am sure everybody there was interested in what was going to happen and felt that any suggestions they could make could be acted on. I am sure all this is done and dusted. These get-togethers were only paying lip service.Nothing will be changed from what we were shown in the fine illustration presented to us. The main problem was no scale models to see. There was nothing to compare the size of the finished development to, but I did read it would be 35 meters tall, so that means it is going to be more than three times the height of the old 10 meter diving stage we used to have? That looks very high to me.I was also surprised how much of the Beach Lawns the council is giving away to the developer. I only hope the council has covered all the bases in the lease. We are all aware the site has been 'given away'. The question is do they have any safeguards built in that the developer or the people who own it after it is built cannot get out at some time in the future, and that these safeguards also will apply to the people who take on the concessions?LAURENCE F ORME - Shrubbery Avenue, Weston
