I AM 75 years old and lost my husband last year. The house felt big and empty so I decided I needed to get out more. I went along for some advice from a lady called Debbie who works for a charity called CSV.We looked at some local training courses and I joined an art club. I also said how much I liked meeting people so we looked into volunteering in a charity shop half a day a week. My life has certainly changed for the better. I am learning how to draw and have made some new friends at the class and in the shop. It's nice to know that people who are retired and those who are younger can get help and support with looking for jobs, courses and volunteering in our area, rather than having to always go to Bristol or Weston. I got help in Clevedon. If anyone else is in a similar position to me I would recommend phoning CSV on 0117 9082266 and arranging to see someone. I feel 10 years younger and feel like I have something to get up for again. I know my late husband would be pleased that I have got out of the house again. Even my children who live in Surrey said how much more sprightly I was during a recent visit.MRS M JONES - Clevedon
