I am sure that I am not the only one that is irritated when, week after week, one Government Department says that it is 'giving' funds to another or to the good people of Weston, as in DEFRA is giving funds to the Environment Agency. Margaret Thatcher, bless her, was the only Government figure who ever said something to the effect of, the Government has nothing but that which the people of Britain either directly, or through companies or institutions they create and work for, give it.Government Departments only play pass the parcel with our taxes, they have nothing of their own to give.Colin HuntRingwood Grove, Weston
