I NOTED with disgust the grudging publicity given by the Mercury (July 7) to Lord Cotter's maiden speech in the House of Lords as compared with Miss Widdecombe's one-day visit to the town. Brian Cotter served Weston as MP for eight years and deserved better.Weston & Worle News gave him a half page.
